Delete your BeehiveMind account

How to delete your BeehiveMind account and everything stored with it, from the app or by asking us.

This page covers BeehiveMind, the beekeeping records app published by BeehiveMind on Google Play, and the account you use to sign in to it and to this website. The two are the same account.

Delete it yourself, from the app

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open the BeehiveMind app and sign in.
  2. Go to the More tab.
  3. Tap Delete account, just above Log out.
  4. Read what will be removed, enter your password to confirm, and tap Delete account again. If you signed up with Google you will not be asked for a password — being signed in is the confirmation.

The account and its data are gone at that point. You are signed out on the device and the app returns to the welcome screen.

Or from the website

  1. Sign in at beehivemind.tech.
  2. Open Profile from the sidebar.
  3. In Danger zone, the last card on the page, enter your password (not asked if you signed up with Google) and select Delete account.
  4. Confirm in the dialog that follows.

Or ask us to delete it

If you cannot get into the app — a lost phone, a forgotten password, a Google account you no longer have — email info@beehivemind.tech from the address the account uses, with the subject Delete my account. You can also use the contact page.

We will confirm we have received it, verify that the request comes from the account holder, and delete the account. We answer within 30 days and normally much sooner.

What gets deleted

Everything below is removed permanently. There is no soft delete, no recycle bin and no grace period, so please export anything you want to keep first — Profile → Your data on the website downloads all of it.

This is what goes when the account is your own. If you work in a team, read If you are in a team below as well: what is deleted depends on whether you own the team or were invited to it.

  • Your account: name, email address, password, country and preferences.
  • Your apiaries and their coordinates.
  • Your beehives, beehive groups and queen breeds.
  • Your inspections, feedings and harvests.
  • Your treatments and treatment types.
  • Your costs and cost categories.
  • Your notifications and to-dos.
  • Your conversations with the AI assistant.
  • Your voice training profile — the per-word corrections the app learned from you.
  • Your sign-in sessions on every device.

Anything still waiting to sync on your phone is deleted with the app's own data when you sign out or uninstall. It never reaches us.

If you are in a team

A BeehiveMind account can invite other people to work on the same apiaries. The person who invites is the team's owner; everyone who joins through an invitation is a team member with an account of their own. The records belong to the team, so deleting an account works differently for the two.

If you own the team, deleting your account deletes the team:

  • everything in the list above, including the records your team members added;
  • the account of every team member — they can no longer sign in;
  • any invitations that have not been accepted yet.

The app and the website both name the team members whose accounts will be deleted before you confirm. If they want to keep a copy of the records, they need to export it before you delete.

If you are a team member, deleting your account deletes only what is yours:

  • your account: name, email address, password, country and preferences;
  • your notifications, your conversations with the AI assistant, your voice training profile and your sign-in sessions.

The apiaries, hives, inspections, feedings, harvests, treatments and costs you added belong to the team and stay with it. Your name is removed from them: they show as added by "a former team member".

The team owner can also remove you from the team. That deletes your account in the same way, and you are signed out the next time you use BeehiveMind.

What we keep, and for how long

  • Nothing that identifies you, in the live system. Once the deletion runs, the account and its records are no longer there.
  • Server logs — request times and IP addresses, held briefly so we can keep the service running and investigate faults. These are not linked to your records once the account is gone.
  • Records you added to someone else's team, if you were a team member. They stay with that team, without your name.
  • Backups, for up to 4 weeks. The database is copied once a day, and again before each update to the service, and those copies are deleted automatically after 8 days. Our hosting provider also keeps a weekly copy of the whole server, and deletes each one after 4 weeks. A deleted account can therefore still exist inside a backup for up to 4 weeks. Backups exist only to recover the service after a failure and are not used for anything else.
  • Records we are required by law to keep, such as invoices for a paid plan, which tax law obliges us to retain even after an account closes.

Deleting some of your data without closing the account

You do not have to delete the whole account to get rid of a record. An apiary you delete in the app takes its beehives and their inspections with it, and individual records can be deleted on their own. Your account and everything else stays.
